Veteran’s Nature Therapy Project
A mental health retreat geared for military veterans
Our President and Co-Founder, Harry Turner, served in Afghanistan in 2013. When he returned from war, he struggled deeply with PTSD and depression. The only thing that saved him, was the rainforest. We hope that by providing this space and resources will encourage healing and growth for others who have experienced similar trauma. Participants will have the opportunity to partake in activities such as daily hikes, region-specific wildlife and plant identification, and meditation activities.
We are incredibly excited about the potential of this program and want to open registration as soon as possible. In order for us to begin the process, we first need to acquire our large plot of land that is currently being threatened by oil companies, deforestation, and hunting. With your support, we can obtain this land and begin our Veteran’s Nature Therapy.
